Main Ingredients

Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot of salted boiling water, add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Drain the Pasta

Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté Garlic

In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not burnt.

  2. 4

    Add Cherry Tomatoes

Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the pot and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.

  3. 5

    Mix in Seasoning

Stir in the salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, mixing well to combine.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained pasta to the pot with the sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.

  2. 7

    Finish with Basil and Cheese

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the chopped fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until everything is well combined.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Serve the pasta hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
