Meatball Mixture

Cooking Sauce

Method

Prepare Meatballs

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped scallions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and the beaten egg.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, mix the ingredients until well combined. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a plate.

Cook Meatballs

  1. 3

    Pan-Fry Meatballs

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil to the pan. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned on all sides and cooked through.

  2. 4

    Prepare Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, water, and sesame oil until well combined.

  3. 5

    Add Sauce to Meatballs

Once the meatballs are cooked, pour the sauce over them in the skillet. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly and coats the meatballs.

Garnish and Serve

  1. 6

    Garnish

Sprinkle chopped scallions and sesame seeds over the meatballs before serving.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the gyoza meatballs hot, with extra sauce if desired.
