Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips or wedges, depending on your preference.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Remove the soaked potatoes from the water and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  5. 5

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste. Toss to coat evenly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Enjoy your crispy and seasoned fries while hot. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces!
