Method

Shrimp Preparation

1

Prepare the Cooking Liquid

In a large pot, add 4 cups of water, the lemon wedges, and Old Bay seasoning. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

2

Cook the Shrimp

Once the water reaches a boil, carefully add the large shrimp. Reduce the heat to medium and allow the shrimp to cook for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.

3

Chill the Shrimp

Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the pot and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5-10 minutes.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

4

Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Stir well until fully blended.

5

Taste and Adjust

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more horseradish for extra heat or more lemon juice for acidity.

Serving

6

Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter. Serve with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
