Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until a golden-brown crust forms.

  4. 4

    Flip the Steak

Flip the steaks over and add the butter, garlic cloves, and rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steaks with the melted butter.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes until smooth.

  3. 8

    Add Milk and Butter

Add the milk, butter, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix until well combined and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the mashed potatoes alongside the rested ribeye steaks.
