Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Octopus

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and simmer for about 40-60 minutes until tender. Remove from heat and let it cool in the cooking water.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Potatoes

While the octopus is cooking, wash the baby potatoes thoroughly. In a pot, boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are hot and ashy.

  2. 4

    Season the Octopus

Once the octopus has cooled, cut it into manageable pieces, around 2-3 tentacles each. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt, black pepper, and chili flakes. Toss to coat evenly.

  3. 5

    Grill the Octopus

Place the octopus pieces on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until charred and crispy. Remove from the grill and set aside.

  4. 6

    Crisp the Potatoes

While the octopus is grilling, toss the boiled baby potatoes in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place them on the grill and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, arrange the crispy grilled potatoes and top with the grilled octopus pieces. Drizzle with additional olive oil, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

  2. 8

Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your delicious grilled octopus with crispy potatoes!
