Prepare the Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Make the Breading
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Prepare the Egg Mixture
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until well combined.

Coat the Calamari
Dip the calamari rings first into the egg mixture, then coat them in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the coated calamari rings to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Serve
Remove the fried calamari with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with lemon wedges and marinara sauce.
