Burger Preparation

   Prepare the Patties

   In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into two equal-sized patties.

   Cook the Patties

   Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

   Add Cheese

   During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.

   Toast the Buns

   While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

   Assemble the Burger

   Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom bun. Add the cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.

   Serve

   Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
