Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and lime juice. Add the flank steak to the marinade and ensure it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 4

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 5

    Fill the Tacos

Place a few slices of the grilled steak in the center of each tortilla. Top with fresh cilantro, diced onions, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños to taste.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately while warm, with lime wedges on the side if desired.
