Method

Tacos

  1. 1

    Prepare the Carne Asada

Season the carne asada with salt, pepper, and your choice of spices. Grill or pan-sear the steak over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

  2. 2

    Slice the Carne Asada

Once cooked, remove the carne asada from the heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Then, slice it thinly against the grain.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Lettuce Wraps

Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. These will serve as the taco shells.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Tacos

Place a few slices of carne asada in the center of each lettuce leaf. Top with diced onions, chopped cilantro, and avocado slices.

Sides

  1. 5

    Prepare Black Beans

Open the can of black beans and rinse under cold water. Heat in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 6

    Cook White Rice

In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of white rice, cover, and reduce to a simmer. Cook for about 15 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.
