Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken and Shrimp

Cut the chicken breast into thin strips. In a bowl, marinate the chicken strips and shrimp with olive oil, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and lime juice. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

While the chicken and shrimp are marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips. Mince the garlic and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Chicken and Shrimp

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Add the shrimp and cook for about 3-4 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

  3. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet. Add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked chicken and shrimp back to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Toss everything together to heat through and combine flavors.

  2. 7

    Serve

Warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave. Serve the fajita mixture in the tortillas and garnish with sour cream, salsa, and chopped cilantro.
