Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Mix Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in all-purpose flour until fully combined and the dough forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 10 minutes. Then, add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Combine Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.

Frying and Serving

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe long strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to the desired length with scissors.

  3. 7

    Fry Churros

Fry the churros until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes. Remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  4. 8

    Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

  5. 9

    Serve

Serve the churros warm, with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping, if desired.
