Method
Making the Tortilla Bowl
- 1
Prepare the Tortilla Shells
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush each flour tortilla with olive oil on both sides. Press the tortillas into a muffin tin or oven-safe bowl to form a bowl shape and bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Preparing the Salad Filling
- 2
Cook the Meat
In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken or beef strips. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked through. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion, then sprinkle with fajita seasoning. Stir and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

Assemble the Salad
In each tortilla bowl, add a generous amount of shredded romaine lettuce, followed by the cooked chicken or beef mixture. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and salsa. If desired, add sliced jalapeños for extra heat.
