Preparation of Ingredients
- 1
Cook the Protein
If using steak, slice it into thin strips. For chicken, cube it. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add the protein and season with garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes for steak and 7-10 minutes for chicken.
- 2
Prepare the Rice and Beans
If not already cooked, prepare the rice according to package instructions. Heat the black beans in a small pot over low heat until warmed through.

Fill the Tortilla
On a clean, flat surface, place the flour tortilla. Start by layering the cooked rice down the center of the tortilla, followed by the protein, black beans, guacamole, and then finally top with shredded cheese.
- 5
Roll the Burrito
Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll from the bottom up to encase all the ingredients tightly. Make sure to tuck in the sides as you roll to prevent spillage.
