Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, add the bacon slices. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Using a knife, carefully cut a hole in the center of each slice of bread, creating a 'ring'. The hole should be about 2-3 inches in diameter.

  3. 3

    Cook the Eggs

In the same skillet with the rendered bacon fat, place the slices of bread and crack an egg into each hole. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the egg whites are set, and the yolk is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Once the eggs are cooked, carefully remove the bread from the skillet. Place on a serving plate. Add the crispy bacon on top or beside the egg-in-a-hole bread.

  2. 5

    Serve with Jam

Top the egg-in-a-hole with a dollop of berry jam or serve it on the side for dipping. Enjoy your Mamie!
