Method
Brownie Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- 2
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix the Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar with the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- 5
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- 6
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, folding gently until just combined.
- 7
Add Chocolate Chips and Walnuts
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
- 8
Bake
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 9
Cool the Brownies
Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Whipped Cream Preparation
- 10
Prepare Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- 11
Whip the Cream
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the mixture on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
- 12
Serve
Once the brownies are cooled, cut them into squares and serve topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
