Pasta Preparation

Cook Tortellini
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 3-5 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
Shrimp Preparation

Prepare Shrimp
While the tortellini is cooking, peel and devein the shrimp if necessary. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
Sauce Preparation

Cook Garlic and Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.

Make the Vodka Sauce
In the same skillet, add the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Slowly pour in the vodka, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off.

Finish the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and fresh basil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Allow the sauce to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
