Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly on both sides of the ribeye steak. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

  3. 3

    Flip and Add Flavor

Flip the steak and add butter and crushed garlic cloves to the skillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting the steak with melted butter and garlic.

  4. 4

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium, and 150°F for medium-well.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a plate for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.

  2. 7

    Boil the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, minced garlic, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve the Mashed Potatoes

Spoon the garlic mashed potatoes onto a plate and serve alongside the ribeye steak.
