Preparing the Bruschetta Base

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices diagonally.

Brush with Olive Oil
Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil.

Toast the Bread
Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

Prepare Garlic
While the bread is toasting, peel the garlic cloves.

Rub Toast with Garlic
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and immediately rub the toasted side with the garlic cloves.
Making the Tomato Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Prepare the Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves into small pieces and add them to the bowl with tomatoes.

Add Seasonings
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato and basil mixture. Stir gently to combine.
Assembling the Bruschetta

Top the Bread
Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto the toasted side of each baguette slice.

Serve Immediately
Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm.
