Preparing the Bruschetta Base

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices diagonally.

  3. 3

    Brush with Olive Oil

Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil.

  4. 4

    Toast the Bread

Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Prepare Garlic

While the bread is toasting, peel the garlic cloves.

  6. 6

    Rub Toast with Garlic

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and immediately rub the toasted side with the garlic cloves.

Making the Tomato Topping

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 8

  3. 9

    Add Seasonings

Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato and basil mixture. Stir gently to combine.
