Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and drain the rest. Set the pasta aside.
Sauce Preparation
- 3
Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter completely.
- 4
Add Heavy Cream and Garlic
Pour in the heavy cream and add the minced garlic. Stir well and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the garlic to infuse the cream.
- 5
Incorporate Parmesan Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- 6
Season the Sauce
Add freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste. Stir well to combine.
Combine and Serve
- 7
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy sauce.
- 8
Garnish and Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley on top for freshness and color.
