1. Prepare the Bread

Preheat your grill or a pan over medium heat. Toast the slices of rustic bread until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.

2. Prepare the Tomato Mixture

Cut the ripe tomatoes in half. Using a grater, grate the cut side of the tomatoes into a bowl, discarding the skin. You should have a chunky tomato pulp.

3. Add Garlic and Olive Oil

Peel the garlic cloves and cut them in half. Rub the cut side of the garlic over the toasted bread. Spoon the grated tomato mixture onto each slice of bread. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt to taste.

4. Assemble the Dish

Top each slice of tomato toast with a few slices of Serrano ham. Serve immediately.
