Method

Preparation of the Cake

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Preparing the Milk Mixture

  1. 6

    Mix the Milks

In a bowl, combine the condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, and heavy cream. Mix well.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is done baking, let it cool for 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the cake with a fork, then pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

  2. 8

    Chill

Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

Serving

  1. 9

    Top the Cake

Before serving, top the cake with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon. Add chocolate shavings if desired.
