Churro Dough

Method

Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms. Allow it to cool slightly before adding eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  2. 2

    Shape the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C). Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.

  3. 3

    Fry the Churros

Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Coat in Sugar

In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Roll the hot churros in the mixture until evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Stuff the Churros

Using a piping bag filled with your choice of filling (such as chocolate cream, dulce de leche, or vanilla custard), carefully insert the filling into each churro.
