Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Flank Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub the mixture over the flank steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Flank Steak

Grill or sear the marinated flank steak on high heat for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Fries

While the steak is resting, cook the French fries according to package instructions until golden and crispy.

  4. 4

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cheddar cheese and milk. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Carne Asada Fries

Place the cooked fries on a serving platter. Top with sliced flank steak, drizzle the cheese sauce over the top, and add dollops of guacamole and sour cream. Finally, sprinkle with pico de gallo.
