Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Slice the tempeh into thin strips. Trim the string beans and cut them into 2-inch pieces. Slice the Fresno peppers and Thai chiles thinly, and mince the garlic. Slice the red onion into thin rings.

  2. 2

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced red onions, and sauté until the onions are translucent.

  3. 3

    Add Tempeh and Peppers

Add the sliced tempeh, Fresno peppers, and Thai chiles to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the tempeh is golden brown.

  4. 4

Add String Beans and Tamarind Sauce

Add the string beans, tamarind sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the string beans are tender but still crisp.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve hot. Enjoy your Tempeh Orek with rice or as a standalone dish.
