Sauce Ingredients

Pita Bread

Method

Preparation of Tzatziki Sauce

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cucumber

Wash the cucumber thoroughly. Grate it using a box grater or food processor and place it in a clean kitchen towel. Squeeze the towel to remove excess moisture from the cucumber.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic (finely chop or press the garlic), olive oil, chopped fresh dill, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Stir and Chill

Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Preparing Pita Bread

  1. 4

    Warm the Pita Bread

If desired, warm the pita bread in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or wrap in aluminum foil and place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes.

  2. 5

    Serve

Once the tzatziki sauce has chilled and the pita bread is warm, serve the tzatziki sauce in a bowl alongside the warm pita bread for dipping.
