Method

Marinating the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper together.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into cubes and add them to the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Preparing Tzatziki Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, chopped dill, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 4

    Chill

Cover the tzatziki sauce and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Cooking Chicken Souvlaki

  1. 5

    Prepare Skewers

Soak the wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread marinated chicken cubes onto the skewers.

  2. 6

    Grill Chicken

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken skewers for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred.

Preparing Greek Fries or Rice Pilaf

  1. 7

    For Greek Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss potato wedges with olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and crispy.

  2. 8

    For Rice Pilaf

In a pot, melt butter over medium heat and sauté chopped onion until translucent. Add rice and stir for 1-2 minutes. Pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked.

Serving

  1. 9

    Assemble the Plate

Serve the grilled chicken skewers with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and your choice of Greek fries or rice pilaf.
