Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add the strip sirloin steak, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Calamari

While the steak is marinating, season the calamari with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade (discard the marinade) and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  4. 4

    Cook the Calamari

In a separate skillet, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the calamari and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn opaque and are just cooked through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve alongside the sautéed calamari. Garnish with chopped green onions.
