Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Fill the Gyoza Wrappers

Take a gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it in half, pressing to seal tightly. Repeat until all the filling is used.

  3. 3

    Fry the Gyoza

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a little oil. Place the gyoza in the pan, making sure they are not touching. Cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Steam the Gyoza

Add a splash of water (about 1/4 cup) to the pan and cover immediately. Allow the gyoza to steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the gyoza from the pan and serve hot with soy sauce or a dipping sauce of your choice.
