Prep the Pork
Cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

Slice the Vegetables
Peel the daikon radish and carrot, then slice them into thin rounds. Slice the shiitake mushrooms. Chop the green onions into small pieces. Cut the tofu into cubes.
Cooking the Soup

Cook the Pork
In a large pot over medium heat, add the pork belly pieces and cook until they are slightly browned.

Add the Dashi Stock
Pour in the dashi stock and bring to a boil.

Add Miso Paste
In a small bowl, mix the miso paste with a ladle of the hot broth until smooth. Stir this mixture back into the pot.

Finish the Soup
Add the tofu and let it warm through for about 5 minutes. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
Garnishing and Serving

Before serving, sprinkle the chopped green onions on top of the soup.

Ladle the tonjiru into bowls and serve hot.
