Method

Cook Edamame

  1. 1

    Boil Edamame

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add the frozen edamame pods and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender but still slightly firm.

  2. 2

    Drain and Dry

Drain the edamame in a colander and pat dry with a paper towel. Set aside.

Sea Salt Option

  1. 3

    Season with Sea Salt

Transfer the cooked edamame to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sea salt and toss to coat evenly. Serve warm.

Spicy Garlic Soy Glaze Option

  1. 4

    Prepare the Glaze

In a small skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil. Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Make the Sauce

Add soy sauce, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of water to the skillet. Stir and let simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.

  3. 6

    Toss Edamame

Add the cooked edamame to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the glaze. Cook for an additional 1 minute to heat through. Serve warm.
