Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Make Dough
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.

Transfer to Skillet
Lightly grease a small (6-8 inch) oven-safe skillet with butter or non-stick spray. Press the cookie dough evenly into the skillet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set but still soft. Do not overbake.

Remove the skillet from the oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Top the warm cookie with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream.
