Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on paper towels to drain. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Asparagus and Garlic

In the same skillet, add olive oil if needed, then add the asparagus cut into 1-inch pieces. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until tender. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Cream Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and add heavy cream to the skillet. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

  5. 5

    Combine and Serve

Add the cooked fettuccine and crumbled bacon to the skillet. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.
