Prepare the Edamame
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the edamame pods and cook for about 5 minutes until tender but still firm. Drain and set aside.

Mince the Garlic
While the edamame is cooking, peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 2-3 minutes, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Garnish and Serve
Transfer the edamame to a large serving bowl. If desired, sprinkle with red pepper flakes for added heat. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the edamame.
