Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Cream butter and sugars
In a separate bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add eggs and vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Fold in add-ins
Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
Baking

Scoop the dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
