Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Clean the Ribs

Rinse the baby back ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Remove the Membrane

Using a sharp knife, carefully slide under the membrane on the back of the ribs and pull it off completely for better flavor absorption.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Making the PONZU BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ponzu sauce, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha.

  2. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 7

    Wrap the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil and wrap them tightly to create a sealed packet.

  3. 8

    Bake the Ribs

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.

  4. 9

    Glaze with BBQ Sauce

Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil. Brush the ponzu BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  5. 10

    Broil for Finish

Place the ribs under the broiler for 5-10 minutes, watching closely, until the sauce caramelizes and bubbles.

Serving

  1. 11

    Slice and Serve

Allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes before slicing between the bones. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with remaining ponzu BBQ sauce on the side.
