Curly Fries Ingredients

Method

Curly Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Use a curly fry cutter or spiralizer to cut the potatoes into curly shapes. Soak the curly fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add water to the mixture, whisking until smooth.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Batter and Fry

Remove the curly fries from the water and pat dry with paper towels. Dip them into the batter mixture, allowing excess batter to drip off. Carefully drop the battered curly fries into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the curly fries from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
