Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the ramekins

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Melt chocolate and butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix eggs and sugar

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and egg yolks until pale and slightly thickened.

  4. 4

    Combine mixtures

Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Add in the vanilla extract and salt, stirring gently to combine.

  5. 5

    Add flour

Sift the all-purpose flour into the batter and fold it in gently until just combined.

  6. 6

    Fill ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Serve

Let cool for 1 minute, then invert each ramekin onto a plate. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
