Preparation Steps
1. Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso and let it cool. If using, add the coffee liqueur to the cooled espresso.
2. Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
3. Whip the Cream
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
4. Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the espresso mixture. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
5. Repeat the Layers
Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
6. Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
7. Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy!
