Method

Cheesecake Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the crust

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, 0.5 cups of sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Form the crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.

  3. 3

    Make the filling

In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add 1 cup of sugar, sour cream, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

  4. 4

    Add eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Incorporate flour

Sift in the all-purpose flour and gently fold it into the mixture until fully incorporated.

  6. 6

    Bake the cheesecake

Pour the filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.

  7. 7

    Chill

Remove the cheesecake from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
