Method

Preparation of Chicken Nuggets

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces (about 1-2 inches).

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second bowl, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in the third bowl.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Coat each piece of chicken in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Set aside on a plate.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Nuggets

Carefully add breaded chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 4-6 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Preparation of Cottage Fries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes, then cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to create fries.

  2. 7

    Rinse and Dry

Rinse the cut potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch, then dry thoroughly with a clean towel.

  3. 8

    Heat Oil for Fries

In a separate large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 9

    Fry the Fries

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, stirring occasionally. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  5. 10

    Season the Fries

Sprinkle hot fries with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
