Pizza Dough

Method

Pizza Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar. Stir lightly and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour along with the olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a round shape about 12 inches in diameter.

  3. 7

    Add Tomato Sauce

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 8

    Add Cheeses

Tear the fresh mozzarella cheese into pieces and distribute it over the sauce. Then, add the burrata cheese, breaking it into smaller pieces as well.

  5. 9

    Season and Bake

Sprinkle salt and pepper over the toppings and drizzle with olive oil. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Add Fresh Basil

Once out of the oven, quickly add the fresh basil leaves on top of the hot pizza.

  7. 11

    Slice and Serve

Allow the pizza to cool for a minute, then slice it into wedges and serve immediately.
