Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll or stretch it out to your desired pizza shape and thickness.

  3. 7

    Add the Sauce

Transfer the shaped dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.

  4. 8

    Add Cheeses

Tear the fresh mozzarella cheese into small pieces and distribute them evenly over the sauce. Add the burrata cheese in dollops across the pizza.

  5. 9

    Season and Drizzle

Sprinkle sea salt and black pepper to taste. Drizzle olive oil over the top.

  6. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  7. 11

    Add Fresh Basil

Once out of the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves over the hot pizza.

  8. 12

    Slice and Serve

Allow to cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve your Burrata Marg Pizza.
