Method

Dumpling Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water. Mix until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground veal, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, black pepper, salt, and parsley. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

After the dough has rested, roll it out on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Cut into 3-inch squares.

  2. 5

    Fill the Dumplings

Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling to form a pouch and pinch the edges to seal.

  3. 6

    Bake the Dumplings

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Yogurt Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Yogurt Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the yogurt, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and dried mint until smooth. Set aside.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Manti

Serve the baked manti hot, drizzled with the yogurt sauce on top. Enjoy!
