Method
Preparing the Bread
Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet, brush lightly with olive oil, and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
Preparing the Topping
Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the ripe tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
Add Basil and Garlic
Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the tomatoes.
Season the Mixture
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Gently stir the ingredients until well combined.
Assembling the Bruschetta
Top the Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Spoon the tomato topping generously onto each piece of toasted bread.
Serve
Arrange the bruschetta on a platter and serve immediately while the bread is warm.
