Chirashi Ingredients

Method

Chirashi Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 2

    Season the Rice

Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl. Mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved, then gently fold this mixture into the rice. Allow it to cool to room temperature.

  3. 3

    Prepare Toppings

While the rice cools, prepare the toppings. Dice the sushi-grade salmon and tuna, peel and devein the shrimp, and julienne the cucumber. Slice the avocado.

  4. 4

    Assemble Chirashi

In a serving bowl, place a generous scoop of sushi rice as the base. Arrange the diced fish, cucumber, avocado, and nori strips artistically on top of the rice.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Top with pickled ginger and sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish. Serve immediately with miso soup on the side.
