Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by dicing the onion, mincing the garlic, and dicing the green bell pepper. Set them aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks.

  3. 3

    Add Vegetables

Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced green bell pepper to the pork. Stir and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  4. 4

    Mix in Sauces

Stir in the barbecue sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Mixture

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the mixture is simmering, lightly toast the hamburger buns in an oven or on a skillet until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Sloppy Pig

Spoon a generous amount of the sloppy pork mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with sliced pickles and coleslaw if desired, then place the top half of the bun on.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately with extra pickles and coleslaw on the side.
