Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
- 2
Marinate the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the pork, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- 4
Roast the Pork
Remove the pork from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place it in a roasting pan. Season with black pepper and sprinkle red chili flakes over the top. Roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, or until the pork is tender and falls apart easily.
- 5
Prepare the Sauce
While the pork is roasting, pour the reserved marinade into a saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly.
- 6
Finish the Pork
Once the pork is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes. Shred the pork using two forks. Drizzle some of the thickened sauce over the shredded pork.
- 7
Garnish
Chop the green onions and sprinkle them over the shredded pork before serving.
