Pulled Pork
Method
Pulled Pork Preparation
Prepare the Pork
Trim any excess fat from the pork shoulder, if necessary.
Season the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with salt and black pepper evenly on all sides.
Add Aromatics
Chop the onion and garlic cloves, then place them in the bottom of a slow cooker.
Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the onion and garlic in the slow cooker. Pour in the water and cover with the lid. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easy to shred.
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork shoulder from the slow cooker, and shred the meat using two forks. Discard any bones and excess fat.
Mix with Barbecue Sauce
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix in the barbecue sauce. Allow to warm for an additional 30 minutes on low.
Serve the Pulled Pork
Spoon the pulled pork mixture onto slider buns and serve warm.
