Beef Brisket

Method

Beef Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Trim any excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer for moisture.

  2. 2

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is well coated.

  3. 3

    Marinate

Cover the seasoned brisket with plastic wrap and allow it to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

  4. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  5. 5

    Prepare the Cooking Liquid

In a large roasting pan, combine beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.

  6. 6

    Cook the Brisket

Place the marinated brisket into the roasting pan, fat side up. Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender.

  7. 7

    Rest the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the brisket against the grain and serve on a plate. Optionally, drizzle some of the cooking liquid over the slices.
